Super Curcumin is an extract of Turmeric (curcuma longa) which contains a readily available antioxidant. It is the compound of Curcumin in Turmeric that gives it its yellow colour and also its smell. Traditionally, Turmeric was used as a spice and in more recent times as a food colouring. Its many beneficial effects have been utilized for over three thousand years, however it is only in the past 50 years that it has been subject to many trials and studies which have revealed its many uses.

As well as being a powerful antioxidant, Super Curcumin is known to have anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and anti-cancer effects and can also lower cholesterol levels. It is also known to stimulate the production of detoxifying enzymes whilst suppressing other enzymes thought to be harmful if overly expressed. Our Super Curcumin also contains a type of pepper called Bioperine which makes this Curcumin up to twenty times more effective.

Super Curcumin can induce what is known as apoptosis. Apoptosis can be simply explained as programmed cell death (PCD). Cancer researchers are looking for agents which induce apoptosis to be used as the next range of potent anti-cancer drugs. It is known that green tea, vitamin A, vitamin D3 and selenium all induce cancer cell apoptosis, however Curcumin is the most potent. In terms of protecting against cancer, Super Curcumin suppresses the production of certain enzymes and genes which, if overly expressed, are thought to be implicated in the production of numerous cancer cells and some arthritic conditions. Also, its powerful antioxidant effects protect and repair damage caused by free radicals.

Although Super Curcumin can be very useful in the treatment and prevention of cancer, it has many other important uses. Super Curcumin is a known anti-viral and helps protect against viral damage to your liver, and also helps regulate cholesterol levels, maintaining a healthy heart. By inducing the proper flow of bile, it helps break down fats, aiding digestion. In addition, Super Curcumin is very useful for joint related conditions. As an anti-inflammatory, Super Curcumin inhibits the production of a protein molecule that can act like a switch to turn on certain genes, which in turn causes the inflammatory response.

Dosage and Use

Take one capsule once or twice daily with or without food, or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner.

Warnings:

Do not take more than 15 mg of Bioperine® per day. Do not use Bioperine® without physician supervision since it may increase blood levels of prescription medications. Do not take if you have gallbladder problems or gallstones. If you are taking anti-coagulant or anti-platelet medications, or have a bleeding disorder, consult your healthcare provider before taking this product.
